Not the Only One
About us
We are not just survivor-led, we are survivors.
As the only provider dedicated to supporting survivors in higher education, we pioneered survivor-only consent workshops. By amplifying the voices of those with lived experience, we deliver a service unlike any other, built on survivor expertise, self-determination and peer connection.
Founded in 2018 in the UK to address the unmet needs of survivors at university, our model for survivor support is systemic. We not only provide direct support to survivors but also work at every level of the institution—students, staff and leadership—to foster a culture that actively recognises, includes, and supports survivors.
Our Approach
Survivor Expertise: Our team is entirely composed of survivors, providing students with real-life examples of resilience, growth, and hope after sexual violence. We amplify what survivors in higher education tell us—ensuring their voices shape every service we deliver.
Community & Shared Experience: We create spaces where survivors are treated as equals, reducing isolation, stigma, and shame while fostering a sense of community, self-compassion, and empowerment.
Institutional Impact: Through our survivor-only spaces, we gather perspectives most services never hear—equipping staff and leadership with firsthand insights and tailored survivor-informed solutions.
Higher Education Expertise: Our team’s direct experience working in higher education gives us nuanced understanding of institutional realities—enabling us to advise staff and leadership on actionable strategies. Simultaneously, our expertise in university systems guides students to the most relevant academic and support resources, both within and outside their institution.
Accessibility & Trust: Independent from universities, we provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for students who may hesitate to disclose their experiences to university staff or seek counselling due to stigma.
Outstanding Student Feedback: We consistently receive outstanding student feedback, demonstrating the importance and effectiveness of our services.
We have delivered our training and support spaces to LSE, SOAS, Goldsmiths, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Durham University, the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church, and UCL.
